General Conference

I am very excited for General Conference this weekend! My church has general conference twice a year, and we are able to hear the words of our prophet Thomas S. Monson, and other apostles. I can't wait. Saturday I was able to watch the Relief Society broadcast, which is a message especially for the women! It was awesome! I can't wait until this weekend! And, my husband has a four day, so it will be great!

Well, here are my dinner plans for the week! I have been sick for four days, so you can imagine what my house looks like. Yesterday was the first time I left my house since Wednesday. I am so glad I am feeling better. I hate being sick. I haven't been that sick in like 3 years. Anyway, today I am cleaning and doing laundry, and then I have to go grocery shopping. Here is my menu plan!

Monday- Italian sausage spaghetti
Tuesday - Aloha chicken kebabs, fruit salad, broccoli
Wednesday - Prosciutto & cheese paninis
Thursday - Steaks & penne pasta salad
Friday - Pizza pinwheels & salad
Saturday- Chinese night - terryaki(sp?) chicken, sesame chicken, eggrolls, fried rice, cream puffs
Sunday- Stuffed pork chops, green beans, pasta

My baby's growing up

Ok, first of all my counter to the right is supposed to say until Christmas, I don't know why it doesn't.
Second
My baby Jonathan (ok he is three, I guess he's not a baby any more) used to pronounce bananas as bawayways, I don't know why. But it was so cute. Now he says it the right way. He is getting so big!

The boys

Saturday we had a garage sale. I don't know what I was thinking doing it on a Saturday my husband was working. It was kind of crazy watching both kids and running a garage sale, but it wasn't too bad. Here are some pictures of the two minutes they sat still!

Well, my menu plan is a little late. I had a very busy weekend. I went to my niece's daughter's blessing. Yes, I am a great aunt, but I'm not as old as that sounds. Here is what we are having for dinner this week!

Monday - my Dad's tacos (they are awesome! although they didn't taste as good as when he makes them!)
Tuesday - Pita Pizzas
Wednesday - Crock pot Lasagna
Thursday - Spaghetti with Chorizo
Friday - Citrus herb chicken
Saturday -Steaks, shrimp and pasta
Sunday - Baked Macaroni and cheese

My house

Well, we have been here about six weeks and I am finally putting pictures up. We have only had our furniture for about 3 1/2 weeks, and I finally have my house in order. Well, our guest room isn't ready, that is my current project. I will post pictures of that once it is done!

Here is our entryway.

Patriot's Day

The Star Spangled Banner

Composed by Francis Scott Key, "In Defense of Fort McHenry", September 20, 1814.
Congress proclaimed it the U.S. National Anthem in 1931.
Midi by Lesley Nelson

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I am very thankful to live in a free country and I am thankful for all those men and women who serve for us. Especially my awesome husband!!

The Container store

I am totally excited because in a few weeks I am going to the container store. Maybe I am weird, but I am so excited and I have been wanting to go for a long time. I love to organize and all that, so I have been looking at different things I would like to use to organize my home. I have a few "messy spots" in my home that I just need some equipment to get organized. The first space I need to work on is a hobby center. I want to make a space in our spare bedroom a place for my scrapbook supplies/sewing/art supplies. I was thinking something like this:

or maybe this:

Or maybe several of these:

The next space I need to work on is food storage. Our pantry is small, so I want to get some shelving to put on the laundry room for our food storage. Just something simple like this:I can't wait! I will post about my great finds when I get them!!

Right now I am in my living room listening to a loud cricket. Yesterday we heard it under our fridge, and now it is under our stove and we can't get rid of it. It is so loud, I feel like I am camping! Well, last week I posted my menu, and then we ended up having leftovers a lot, or having to eat out because we were in the ER. Anyway, so I am going to make some of the meals I had on the menu last week, that I didn't make!

Monday - Kielbasa tortellini Alfredo
Tuesday - Citrus Herb Chicken
Wednesday - Leftovers
Thursday - Pork chops in crock pot
Friday - Sloppy Joe's
Saturday - Homemade pizza
Sunday - Italian Sausage spaghetti

Happy Birthday Jonathan!

Yesterday Jonathan turned three. I can't believe my baby's three! I took cupcakes to his preschool and he loved it! Jacob loved being able to hang out in his classroom. I forgot my camera for that part, but then yesterday evening we had a Thomas the tank engine party. Jonathan loved it. He was very excited for us to sing to him and to get some new presents! Here are some pictures. My camera is lame, so some of the photos are blurry.

The Birthday boy!

Playing with all the trains!!

Jacob, a happy brother!

Me and Jacob!(Jonathan wouldn't sit for the camera after the presents were open.)

Preschool

Today was Jonathan's first day of preschool. He was so excited and he went right in and started playing with everyone, and never looked back. I can't believe he is old enough to go to preschool. The years have flown by. He looked so cute with his backpack, which he called his rescue pack(like Go Diego Go) He had a great time. He was not interested in posing for the camera though. Here he is ready with his backpack.

His brother was excited for him, and willing to pose for the camera.
And here he is in his classroom.
