Snow!

I woke up and it was raining(as if that wasn't enough of a shock) and then it started to snow! I couldn't believe it so I took some pictures of it! We are getting ready for our trip and Christmas, so we have been pretty busy lately. I will update the blog after the trip! Flying with 2 toddlers! Yikes!

Eating broccoli

Well, I have five extra minutes so I thought I would post a picture of my boys! I am so excited because they both ate broccoli today! I know, it is not that interesting, but I am very excited. They never eat vegetables! I told them they were trees with snow(Parmesan cheese). I have a ton of pictures to put up of Thanksgiving and putting up the Christmas tree and all that, but I have no time to do it today, so one of these days in the near future, I will do that!

Halloween and Vegas

Life has been pretty busy lately. Between primary and potty training, I don't have much time to blog. We went to Vegas last week. My mother in law and her mom met us there, we had a fun time. We hung out, took the kids to the M&M store, went to the temple, and took the kids trick or treating! We had a lot of fun!

Joe and the boys in Paris! Ok, its just our hotel!

Where did I go??

For those of you wondering, yes I am still alive. I have been so busy lately, no time to blog. I have been sick, had sick kids. Now we are all better, but I have been so busy with my schoolwork, and the house, and I was called as primary president at my church 2 weeks before the annual primary presentation. So, I have had very little down time. So much to do!! I will be back soon, I hope!!

Conference, banana bread and peaches

Well, this has been a great week. Joe had a long weekend so we packed up and went to visit my sister in Utah! It was so much fun. I wish we could have stayed longer, but Joe had some things to take care of last night. The weather was nice, and we went to the pumpkin patch and a vegetable stand. It was fun! I wish I hadn't forgotten my camera! We listened to conference on the way home, and then we watched it today. It was awesome. I love General Conference, and I look forward to it every time. I am so uplifted and have several goals to work on this next six months! I also made banana bread (because my bananas were getting old)

and canned some peaches today.

I feel so domestic. It was fun, and nice to have the time to do it!

Since we went out of town, a lot of the meals on my menu last week didn't get made, so I am doing them this week.
Monday - Ravioli's/grilled cheese (I know, weird combo, but my husband will be putting the boys bunk beds tomorrow, so I am making him his request.)
Tuesday - Prosciutto and cheese paninis
Wednesday - Tacos/quesidillas
Thursday - Steaks & penne pasta salad
Friday - left overs
Saturday - Breakfast for dinner
Sunday - Citrus herb chicken

General Conference

I am very excited for General Conference this weekend! My church has general conference twice a year, and we are able to hear the words of our prophet Thomas S. Monson, and other apostles. I can't wait. Saturday I was able to watch the Relief Society broadcast, which is a message especially for the women! It was awesome! I can't wait until this weekend! And, my husband has a four day, so it will be great!

Well, here are my dinner plans for the week! I have been sick for four days, so you can imagine what my house looks like. Yesterday was the first time I left my house since Wednesday. I am so glad I am feeling better. I hate being sick. I haven't been that sick in like 3 years. Anyway, today I am cleaning and doing laundry, and then I have to go grocery shopping. Here is my menu plan!

Monday- Italian sausage spaghetti
Tuesday - Aloha chicken kebabs, fruit salad, broccoli
Wednesday - Prosciutto & cheese paninis
Thursday - Steaks & penne pasta salad
Friday - Pizza pinwheels & salad
Saturday- Chinese night - terryaki(sp?) chicken, sesame chicken, eggrolls, fried rice, cream puffs
Sunday- Stuffed pork chops, green beans, pasta

My baby's growing up

Ok, first of all my counter to the right is supposed to say until Christmas, I don't know why it doesn't.
Second
My baby Jonathan (ok he is three, I guess he's not a baby any more) used to pronounce bananas as bawayways, I don't know why. But it was so cute. Now he says it the right way. He is getting so big!

The boys

Saturday we had a garage sale. I don't know what I was thinking doing it on a Saturday my husband was working. It was kind of crazy watching both kids and running a garage sale, but it wasn't too bad. Here are some pictures of the two minutes they sat still!

Well, my menu plan is a little late. I had a very busy weekend. I went to my niece's daughter's blessing. Yes, I am a great aunt, but I'm not as old as that sounds. Here is what we are having for dinner this week!

Tuesday - Pita Pizzas
Wednesday - Crock pot Lasagna

Patriot's Day

The Star Spangled Banner

Composed by Francis Scott Key, "In Defense of Fort McHenry", September 20, 1814.
Congress proclaimed it the U.S. National Anthem in 1931.
Midi by Lesley Nelson

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I am very thankful to live in a free country and I am thankful for all those men and women who serve for us. Especially my awesome husband!!

The Container store

I am totally excited because in a few weeks I am going to the container store. Maybe I am weird, but I am so excited and I have been wanting to go for a long time. I love to organize and all that, so I have been looking at different things I would like to use to organize my home. I have a few "messy spots" in my home that I just need some equipment to get organized. The first space I need to work on is a hobby center. I want to make a space in our spare bedroom a place for my scrapbook supplies/sewing/art supplies. I was thinking something like this:

or maybe this:

Or maybe several of these:

The next space I need to work on is food storage. Our pantry is small, so I want to get some shelving to put on the laundry room for our food storage. Just something simple like this:I can't wait! I will post about my great finds when I get them!!
